About Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a prestigious Bordeaux wine estate located in the Saint-Julien appellation. Its history dates back to the early 18th century, around 1720, and it is named after the “beautiful stones” (beaucaillou) characteristic of its terroir. Classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru) in the famous 1855 Bordeaux Wine Classification, it produces wines known for their elegance, depth, and complexity. The estate has been owned by the Borie family since 1942, who have maintained a strong commitment to quality and excellence. The Château’s vineyards primarily consist of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with the terroir’s gravelly soil providing optimal drainage and heat retention for the vines. The wine cellar is uniquely built directly beneath the Victorian-style château.
