Saint-Emilion Jurade will inaugurate a Chancellery in China

 

Prestigious Gala diner and new Chancellery for Saint-Emilion Jurade during Vinexpo Asia-Pacific

 dinner organised for next Monday (26th May
2014) at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong will serve to
launch the festivities of the VINEXPO ASIA-PACIFIC exhibition. In an outstanding setting,
more than 500 guests will taste the Saint-Emilion 
Grands Crus Classés and Premiers Grands Crus 
Classés that have been especially selected.
 During the dinner about thirty wine celebrities will be inducted by a number of Jurats attending.

vert-de-vin-jurade-saint-emilion-2These Jurats will end their week in Asia in Beijing as they inaugurate the first Chancellery of the Saint-Emilion Jurade in China. The Extraordinary Chapter scheduled for Saturday 31st May at Château Changyu Afip in Miyun County in Beijing, will appoint Xing Hai CUI and Nicolas BILLOT-GRIMA as Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor respectively of the Jurade in China.

This historic event has been selected by France-China 50 to be officially recognised as one of the 50th anniversary commemorations of the re-opening of diplomatic relations between France and China. (Read article: The Elysee honors Cognac Camus for the 50th Anniversary).

The irony in this story is that France chose to promote its know-how and to enhance trade & diplomatic relations with wine & spirit. Products that are very difficult (impossible ?) to promote in its own territory (Evin law).
