Pierre-Henri and Véronique Flurin, both deeply committed to living ecosystems, the vine and the great wines of Bordeaux, announce the acquisition of Château La Couspaude, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé ideally located on one of the appellation’s historic limestone plateaus, at the gateway to the village of Saint-Émilion.

We see La Couspaude as a living heritage. Our ambition is to preserve its soul whileallowing its terroir to express itself at the highest level, with full respect for the vine, the soils and the passage of time,” (Pierre-Henri and Véronique Flurin)

Enclosed by stone walls and surrounded by emblematic classified growths, this 7-hectare vineyard perfectly embodies the elegance, precision and depth characteristic of the great terroirs of Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Resting on one of the most renowned limestone formations of the appellation, Château La Couspaude has, over the years, built a solid reputation through wines combining structure, finesse and pedigree, with remarkable ageing potential, thus contributing to the international reputation of Saint-Émilion.

Pierre-Henri Flurin, an orthopaedic and trauma surgeon, and a recognised specialist in shoulder pathologies, practising in particular at the Clinique du Sport in Bordeaux, shares with Véronique Flurin, a paediatrician specialising in developmental paediatrics and disability at Bordeaux Pellegrin University Hospital, “a deep passion for wine and outstanding terroirs”. Their approach reflects a clear determination to preserve the identity and history of the estate while supporting its evolution through a responsible and sustainable vision.

The day-to-day management of the estate will be entrusted to Vignobles K, under the direction of Jean-Christophe Meyrou. His expertise and technical rigour will ensure meticulous vineyard management and winemaking, fully respectful of the terroir and guided by a long-term perspective. This collaboration aims to maintain the château’s qualitative signature while continuing the precise work already under taken on soil expression and the balance of the wines. This acquisition marks the beginning of a new era for Château La Couspaude. It is founded on strong family governance, a clearly defined environmental sensitivity and an international ambition designed to further strengthen the position of Saint-Émilion’s great wines on global markets. By combining tradition with a forward-looking vision, the Flurin family intends to ensure the long-term future and continued development of this emblematic property.
