2025 harvest in Sable de Camargue: a high-quality and promising vintage, which will have earned its keep

The sandy terroir of the Sable de Camargue AOP, tempered by maritime influences, provides ideal conditions for producing luminous and delicate “Gris” and “Gris de Gris” wines.

Night harvests only

The 2025 harvest began here two weeks ago and continues at night, under the starry sky, until dawn. From nightfall until early morning, the raisins destined for the Sable de Camargue AOP are harvested by the winegrowers, which preserves the freshness and aromatic intensity of the grapes. These night harvests, which are much higher in quality, also require less energy upon arrival at the cellar, an important point for winegrowers committed to more responsible viticulture.

An early vintage with rich aromatic intensity

The year’s unpredictable weather, with a wet spring and a hot early summer, required winemakers to master their techniques to preserve the harvest. The excellent harvest gave them that opportunity. This year, the harvest began in mid-August due to the high temperatures, but the rains that fell in the following days diluted the sugar concentration in the berries and brought a beautiful balance. Winemakers are also observing very uniform ripeness across the grape varieties. The harvest continues steadily, with the first harvest of grapes intended for the Gris wines, followed by the harvest of the Grenache Gris plots selected for the Gris de Gris wines.

Tasting notes from the winemakers on the 2025 vintage

The first juices, which will help define the year’s wines, are very promising. They present a beautiful color, revealing rich and complex aromas, with pronounced notes of peach and juicy nectarines, soaked in the sun. A light and aromatic profile reveals wines that will offer beautiful complexity.” The first Grenache Gris, an emblematic grape variety, promises to be particularly high-quality. They reveal a varied palette of colors, ranging from rose petal to pale melon highlights.

Words from the President

The winegrowers of our appellation unanimously note that the quality is there, with juices that promise a fine vintage. It is now time to sell the Grenaches, which are showing good results in terms of both quality and quantity.” » Frédéric ARRAGON, President of the Sable de Camargue Wine Syndicate To date, this 2025 vintage of the Sable de Camargue AOP announces an exceptional quality, which illustrates all the singularity and freshness of the Sable de Camargue AOP wines.
