Marie-Laure Latorre appointed Managing Director of Château de Sales
Château de Sales announces the arrival of Marie-Laure Latorre as Managing Director, who will take up her post on September 1, 2025. An agricultural engineer and oenologist with over twenty years of experience in the wine industry, Marie-Laure Latorre will take over the management of the estate with the mission of promoting this iconic location while respecting its identity, history, and commitments. From the end of September, she will work alongside Nicolas de Lambert des Granges, President of Château de Sales, which has belonged to the same family since 1578. Marie-Laure Latorre succeeds Vincent Montigaud, who has been Managing Director for over seven years and has left his mark on the estate through his in-depth work on production methods: optimized ripeness, precision in extraction and aging, unique blends… All these developments have strengthened the identity and quality of Château de Sales wines in recent years. “It is with great enthusiasm that I join the Château de Sales team to continue, alongside Nicolas de Lambert des Granges, the momentum created by Vincent Montigaud. I look forward to putting my high standards, energy, and passion to work for this splendid estate.”
– Marie-Laure Latorre
Marie-Laure Latorre began her career as a national buyer at Système U before joining the Bordeaux wine trade, then taking over the management of several properties within Vignobles Olivier Decelle, where she supervised five estates spread across four major French wine regions: Mas Amiel (Roussillon), Château Jean Faure (Saint-Émilion), Château Haut-Maurac (Médoc), Domaine Decelle & Fils (Burgundy), and Domaine de Boisseyt (Rhône Valley). She held technical, commercial, and managerial responsibilities there, supporting large-scale projects such as the restructuring of properties and the implementation of environmental certifications. She was particularly successful in making Château Jean Faure shine among the Grands Crus Classés of Saint-Émilion by creating a unique signature for it. Her cross-functional approach, combining agronomic rigor, strategic vision, and a sense of teamwork, is an asset in supporting the dynamic development of Château de Sales. “The teams at Château de Sales and the entire family warmly thank Vincent Montigaud for his work over nearly eight years of cultivation and winemaking. They are delighted to welcome Marie-Laure Latorre. His extensive experience, taste, and talent for producing great wines, as well as his human qualities, will enable us to continue, together, Château de Sales’ approach towards increasingly environmentally friendly viticulture and the production of even more precise, fruity, and elegant wines, thereby consolidating Château de Sales’ position as a sure bet in Pomerol.”
Nicolas de Lambert des Granges, President “I have placed precision and attention to detail at the heart of my work, convinced that these requirements contribute to our quest for excellence. I am proud of the work accomplished with the estate team.” — Vincent Montigaud
