A NEW HOSPICES DE BEAUNE CUVÉE !

A DONATION FOR DOMAINE FAIVELEY’S 200TH ANNIVERSARY

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Domaine Faiveley (1825–2025), the Faiveley family announced a generous donation to the Hospices de Beaune on June 20, 2025, during a ceremony at the Château du Clos de Vougeot. They donated a prestigious vineyard parcel of Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, planted in 1974 and covering just over 4 ouvrées (approx. 0.17 hectares). This vineyard will yield about three barrels of wine annually.

The new wine will debut at the 165th Hospices de Beaune wine auction on November 17, 2025, under the name “Clos de Vougeot, cuvée François Faiveley”, in tribute to two key figures of the family: François Faiveley (1859–1918) and François Faiveley (born 1951).

Erwan Faiveley expressed pride in sharing this exceptional heritage with the Hospices, emphasizing their shared values of organic viticulture and commitment to quality. Guillaume Koch, Director of the Hospices Civils de Beaune, thanked the Faiveley family for this rare and symbolic donation, highlighting its role in continuing a long tradition of generosity and supporting hospital operations. Ludivine Griveau-Gemma, manager of the Hospices’ wine estate, called the gift deeply meaningful and a lasting connection between the two institutions.

Domaine Faiveley, based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, owns over 120 hectares of vineyards, including 12 Grand Crus and 22 Premier Crus. Currently led by Eve and Erwan Faiveley—the 7th generation—the Domaine has been transitioning to organic farming since 2022, with full certification expected in July 2025.

The Hospices de Beaune, founded in 1443, are a public hospital network still operating today, with nearly 1,000 beds across several sites in Burgundy. Their wine estate, built through centuries of donations, covers more than 60 hectares, mainly Premier and Grand Crus. It includes 86 unique vineyard plots and produces 51 distinct cuvées—all honoring their donors. The new Faiveley cuvée will now be part of this remarkable living legacy.
