67 Pall Mall Bordeaux

The project is taking shape

The renowned private members’ club 67 Pall Mall, celebrated for its exceptional wine offerings, is set to open its doors in Bordeaux in April 2026, right in time for the En Primeur campaign. Located at 21 Cours de l’Intendance in the prestigious Triangle d’Or, the club will transform a historic 1,500-square-meter 18th-century building, which was previously a restaurant in the 19th century, then a bank and later a fashion boutique, into a “place to be” for wine enthusiasts.

Two Bordeaux-based architects, Charles Sarthou et Beba Michard-Castagné (S+M Architectes), who were also behind the renovation of Le Gabriel Restaurant and Château Angélus among many other projects, have obtained planning permission for renovations that will carefully preserve the structure’s original architectural character. The hard hat tour in July 2025 revealed that the space had been reimagined across multiple levels. The centrepiece is an impressive 8.2-meter glass wine tower standing beneath the building’s spectacular 15-meter cupola. The renovation includes a professional kitchen in the basement, which was dug in the ground, a ground-floor wine bar open to the public, a members-only lounge and private dining rooms, and a panoramic rooftop terrace overlooking Bordeaux’s historic rooftops and the Notre Dame church.

The wine list promises to be the region’s most extensive, featuring over 5,000 references from 50 countries, including approximately 500 options available by the glass, all served in premium Zalto glasses. Bordeaux wines will make up at least a third of the selection. The founders expect that many producers will utilise the club as a convenient venue to present their wines without requiring visitors to travel to distant estates.

Founded by a wine enthusiast and former trader, Grant Ashton, 67 Pall Mall has already established exclusive clubs in London (2015), Singapore (2022), and Verbier (2021). Besides Bordeaux, new clubs are being set to open in Shanghai, Beaune and Melbourne. Membership, priced at 3,400 euros (2,000 euros joining fee plus 1,400 euros annual fee), grants access to all global locations. With a cap of 1,800 members, anticipation is high for this outstanding addition to Bordeaux’s wine scene. While waiting for the opening, the team organises regular masterclasses with exceptional wines from around the world presented by winemakers and leading journalists.
