Sotiriou Winery – Stamna, Mavrodaphne 2024, Mainland Greece

The wine has a beautiful pale cherry color. The first nose is fresh and fruity with a slight reduction. It needs air to open up. There are fruity notes of morello cherry, juicy plum, tea, and rose. There is a hint of orange zest. The second nose opens with a lovely tangy citrus note, along with red and black fruits. There is a fresh touch of anise. The palate is round on the attack with a beautiful smoothness. There are notes of juicy red cherry and fresh mint. The acidity is mouth-watering. The tannins are supple with a hint of milk and Timut pepper. The texture is velvety and delicate. The finish is fresh with a hint of juicy black cherry. The wine needs decanting.
