Château Fortia – Cuvée du Baron 2022 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

A lovely, elegant, racy, concentrated, deep nose, all delicacy and subtlety in its definition. It reveals notes of brilliant wild cassis, crushed cherry and small notes of small concentrated/fleshy red fruits, associated with touches of lavender, a hint of local garrigue, fresh flowers, as well as fine hints of redcurrant jelly, violet and Sichuan pepper. On the palate, the wine is well-built, fruity, mineral, gourmand and offers beautiful definition, delicacy, suppleness as well as precision. In mouth this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy cassis, bright violet plum and small notes of brilliant bigarreau cherry, combined with touches of little red berries, flowers, rosemary, lavender, as well as fine hints of olive tree, dark chocolate and toastiness. Tannins are sapid, mellow and gourmand. A beautifully gourmand wine, with a rich texture, delicate, fresh and juicy. Very good persistence.
