Masseria Piccirillo – I Calaia Casavacchio 2022 – Terre del Volturno

The nose is racy, spicy, deep and offers a lovely broad, elegance palette of spices. It reveals notes of boysenberry, violet and small notes of tonka bean, associated with fine hints of pulpy red plum and discreet hints of mocha. The palate is well-built, fruity, sapid, elegant, racy, fresh, vibrant and offers tension, energy and precision. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh cassis and fresh plum, combined with pretty floral/wildflower touches, toasted almond, as well as fine hints of fresh balsamic and a hint of sense of the place (local biotop) in freshness. Good length. A wine that beautifully reveals its terroir, the landscapes of its estate…letting the spirit wander.
