Pellegrino – Bip Benjamin 2014 – Oro Dolce, Marsala Superiore Riserva

The nose is precise and offers a fine coating side and a certain delicacy in its grain. It reveals notes of dried quince, kumquat and small notes of flowers, associated with fine touches of blood orange, as well as fine hints of almost kirschy cassis, sweet tobacco and honey. The palate is well-built, fruity, it offers a tangy frame, juiciness, acidity, gourmandise and delicacy. It also presents a fine, unctuous and airy side. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of candied mandarin, kumquat and small notes of dried quince, combined with fine touches of candied apricot, as well as fine hints of sweet lemon, crushed currant and tobacco. Good length. Gourmandise, freshness and roundness. A hint of pastry in the background. A nicely gourmand wine, with a note of crème brûlée on the finish/persistence, a very discreet, almost iodized hint in the background and toasty/smoky touches that are almost subtly peaty.
