Mauperier 2024 – Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

The nose is slightly roasted, rather concentrated and juicy. It expresses notes of morello cherry, roasted red cherry, wild strawberry, fresh raspberry, crushed blackcurrant, combined with notes of peppermint, blackcurrant bud in the background, black plum, dark chocolate, wild mint. After aeration it becomes very floral (peony, fresh rose, fresh cornflower), and also expresses aromas of sweet spices (nutmeg, licorice, white pepper). The palate is juicy and fruity (fresh raspberry, blackcurrant, wild strawberry), subtly spicy (licorice, white pepper), floral and minty (peony, rose, peppermint). The finish is juicy and chiseled, the tannins are fine and chalky, beautiful herbaceous freshness on the persistence.
