Château Paloumey 2024 – Haut-Médoc

The nose is closed at first and requires aeration. It then expresses juicy and concentrated fruits (morello cherry, blackcurrant, black plum, strawberry, crushed raspberry), a spicy hint (liquorice, pepper seeds, nutmeg, cumin), a toasted touch (hazelnut, chocolate, coffee, morello cherry in chocolate), flowers (violet) and herbs (dried mint). The palate is enveloping, savory, more expressive than the noses, and offers flavors of juicy, ripe and enveloping fruits (morello cherry, blackcurrant, black plum, strawberry, crushed raspberry, dried cherry and crushed blackcurrant), toasted and gourmet spicy notes(coffee, chocolate, bitter cocoa, liquorice, nutmeg, coriander seeds, toasted wood and toasted hazelnut), a roasted, gourmet and integrated herbaceous touch (mint, bouquet garni), a hint of peony and violet. The finish is rich (chocolate morello cherry, cocoa, coffee, liquorice), with a mouthwatering acidity. An airy and concentrated wine, with a gourmand touch.
