Chevalier de Lascombes 2024 – Margaux

Lovely fruity nose, fresh, chiselled, spicy, clean, precise and offers a fine aromatic intensity. There are notes of ripe wild cassis, Cubèbe pepper and small notes of violet and lily, associated with touches of red pepper, small ripe wild red berries, as well as hints of fleshy/fairly ripe cherry, bright violet plum, a hint of star anise, Cubèbe pepper and cinnamon. The palate is well-built, fruity and offers acidity, energy, pretty purity, a chiselled, clean side, precision, elegance, aromatic depth and a pretty grain. A lovely infusion side in freshness and elegant darkness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, bright cassis and small notes of fresh cherry, combined with touches of spices, nutmeg, fine hints of Cubèbe pepper, roasted almond, a hint of toasted hazelnut, as well as fine hints of brilliant red fruit and tobacco. Good length. A fine, sappy hint of almost pine needle (in the background). The tannins are mellow and gourmand. Fine powdery on the finish/persistence.
