Château Dufort-Vivens 2024 – Margaux, Cru Classé

Château Dufort-Vivens 2024 – Margaux, Cru Classé

(94.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 0.5% Cabernet Franc) The nose is well-built, elegant, airy, complex and offers a lovely finesse/delicacy, an airy character as well as a 3-dimensional side/complexity. There are notes of wild blackberry, wild raspberry and small notes of graphene, associated with touches of cubeb pepper, as well as fine hints of small wild fruits, dry gravel, a discreet hint of almost cocoa nibs and a hint of lily (in the background). The palate is well-built, creamy, elegant and offers depth, a tangy frame, aromatic depth, juiciness, energy, a melodious side, precision and purity. A lovely texture. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, small fleshy/juicy red fruits and small notes of violet, combined with touches of iodine, a subtle hint of small red fruits, almost discreetly roasted, as well as fine hints of mandarin (in the background). The tannins are precise and mellow. Good length and persistence.
