Virginie de Valandraud 2024 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is beautifully fruity, precise, with a velvety grain, fine concentration and complexity. It reveals notes of blackberry, camphor and small notes of violet, associated with touches of saffron on the floral side, as well as fine hints of blueberry/small blue fruits, discreet hints of plum blossom and red pepper. The palate is well-built, fruity, brilliant, with brightness, energy, precision, tension and gourmandise. It offers a lovely purity and brightness of fruit. It expresses notes of brilliant cherry, bright cassis and small notes of crushed raspberry, combined with a touch of roasted-elegant redcurrant, small blue frits as well as hints of graphene, nutmeg, sweet tobacco and bourbon vanilla. A nice chiseled side and a lovely mid-palate. An iodine/sapid side in the background. An imperceptible hint of almost blood orange on the persistence/retro finish. A vibrant wine.
