Château Pavie Macquin 2024 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé

(84% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 1% Cabernet Sauvignon) The nose is fruity, elegant, frank, fresh, deep and offers a certain intensity/concentration. It reveals notes of violet, violet plum and bright/brilliant cassis, and small notes of small red fruits, blueberry, a hint of roasted-elegant red fruit, as well as delicate hints of lilac, smoke and delicate notes of warm vegetation. The palate is well-built, juicy, supple, elegant, it offers great energy, a tangy frame, a melodious, voluptuous, delicate yet powerful side at the same time. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy red cherry, juicy/bright blueberry and small notes of cornflower, combined with touches of bright raspberry, as well as fine hints of sweet blond tobacco, nutmeg, a subtle hint of bergamot, sweet spices, infusion and Mediterranean barrier. A nicely complex wine. The tannins are nicely mellow and racy. A subtle hint of blood orange in the background. Very beautiful finesse of grain on the nose. Purity and voluptuousness. Beautiful acidity. Tender. Good density for the vintage.
