Château de Ferrand – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

Château de Ferrand – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

(75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc) Lovely, fruity nose, offering mellowness, a fine chiselled side, precision, accuracy and a certain aromatic concentration. It reveals notes of wild cassis and violet/fresh flowers, associated with touches of spices, Sichuan pepper, small wild berries, as well as a hint of smoke, infusion, small wild red fruits and nutmeg. The palate is nicely juicy, fruity, mineral, chiselled, vibrant and offers lovely energy, a tangy frame, precision and a certain brilliance/bright of fruit. A vibrant and juicy side. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh cassis, violet and small notes of juicy raspberry, combined with a touch of crunchy strawberry, pretty hints of small tangy fruits, as well as hints of cornflower, zan, a subtle hint of almost orange peel, sweet pepper and nutmeg. The tannins are precise, saline, tasty and finely sappy. Good length. A nice little chewiness on the finish/persistence.
