The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is straight, precise, spicy and toasted, even slightly sappy. It expresses aromas of nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper, vanilla, dark chocolate, toasted almond, as well as pine bark in the background, combined with notes of wild mint and toasted wood. There are also fruity notes (morello cherry, red cherry, raspberry, cranberries in syrup) and floral notes (violet, a hint of peony). The palate is expressive, with roasted and spicy notes on the attack (roasted red cherry, roasted meat in the background, nutmeg, white pepper, liquorice, vanilla), as well as ripe fruits on the mid-palate (red cherry, morello cherry, raspberry, red currant, strawberry). The finish is persistent, spicy and lively, with salivating acidity and herbal notes of tobacco and black tea. The tannins are fine, well constructed.
