The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is rich, savory, roasted and spicy. It initially expresses aromas of roasted meat, roasted bouquet garni, toasted hazelnut, coffee, toasted wood, as well as sweet spices (nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper, tonka bean, a hint of star anise). There are also notes of cocoa nibs, dark chocolate, a sweet hint of peony and dried rose. The fruit is rich and ripe : there are notes of roasted red cherry, juicy morello cherry, blackberry, wild strawberry and crushed raspberry. The palate is savory, enveloping and expressive. It offers a fruity attack (roasted red cherry, morello cherry, crushed raspberry, blackberry, wild strawberry), complemented by a roasted touch (coffee, toasted almond, heated wood, cocoa), spicy notes (liquorice, white pepper, crushed cardamom, tonka bean), as well as fresh peony, wild mint and dried rose. The finish is tangy, salivating, fresh, with notes of morello cherry and organic strawberry, as well as an earthy mineral frame. The tannins are solid and tight, slightly dry. A firm wine, with potential.
