The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color. The nose is dense and gourmand, with distinct notes of ripe fruit, toast, and spices. It expresses aromas of morello cherry, red cherry, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry, and blackberry, combined with hints of toasted hazelnut, dark chocolate, tangy cocoa nibs, and toasted wood, as well as vanilla, cinnamon in the background, liquorice, nutmeg, and tonka bean. There are also notes of dry Earl Grey tea, dried mint, and bergamot peel, combined with peony and dried rose, as well as a fine mineral structure. The palate appears closed at the moment, but expresses density and complexity. Flavors of tart red cherry, cranberry, raspberry, fresh strawberry, as well as smoke, toasted hazelnut, cocoa, spices (liquorice, tonka bean, white pepper, vanilla), herbs (Earl Grey tea, dried mint, tobacco) and flowers (dried rose, dried cornflower, peony) are present. The tannins are grippy, chalky and solid, but with a fine texture. The finish is juicy, fruity and gourmand, quite persistent on notes of red cherry and crushed raspberry. Beautiful fresh and salivating acidity.
