The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose benefits from aeration. It expresses delicate tertiary notes (dried leaves, tobacco, a hint of undergrowth), combined with spicy touches (nutmeg, liquorice, a very light hint of saffron), aromatic herbs (dried bouquet garni, dried mint), dried rose, fresh peony in the background which brings airiness, as well as fruits (dried red cherry, ripe morello cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, a touch of dried cranberries in the background). There are also notes of dark chocolate, coffee and cocoa. The palate is savory, with a spicy and slightly tertiary attack. It expresses notes of vanilla, nutmeg, white pepper, a hint of cardamom, as well as dried red cherry, morello cherry, blackberry, crushed raspberry and strawberry. We also find notes of dried peppermint, bay leaf, flowers (dried rose, peony in the background). The tertiary flavors are delicate and appear more on the persistence (dried tobacco, undergrowth in the background, fallen leaves). The tannins are structured and velvety, quite solid, but not dry. Beautiful salivating acidity and good persistence on the palate on notes of dark chocolate and chocolate morello cherry.
