The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color. The nose offers tension and concentration, as well as a rich and savory spice. It expresses notes of roasted bouquet garni, dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, and dried mint. After aeration, it expresses tangy fruit aromas (bird cherry, red cherry, raspberry, a hint of morello cherry), a touch of dried red cherry, as well as licorice, nutmeg and ground black pepper, dried wildflowers and dried rose. There are also hints of mineral, limestone, and dry stone. The palate is silky, fleshy, yet fresh, with enveloping, fine, cocoa-flavored tannins. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry and red cherry, combined with a savory spicy side (licorice, coriander seeds, nutmeg), roasted notes (coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, toasted almond) and aromatic herbs (roasted bouquet garni, dried mint). The finish offers salivating acidity, good persistence, as well as a limestone mineral framework and a good coffee bitterness. A closed wine, but with tension and potential.
