Fèlsina Rancia 2021 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is luscious, fruity and offers a certain density, as well as notes of very ripe and jammy sweet fruits. We find in particular the aromas of crushed morello cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, wild strawberry and raspberry coulis, combined with woody notes (toasted wood, mint chocolate), as well as a sappy touch of fresh wood and pine needles, combined with sweet spices (licorice, nutmeg) and fresh flowers (rose, peony, a hint of cornflower), as well as fresh mint and sage. The palate is savory, with a hint of chocolate and toast on the attack. Then we find the flavors of juicy fruits (morello cherry, red cherry, crushed raspberry, blueberry, blackcurrant), spices (nutmeg, white pepper, licorice), as well as dried pine needles, fresh wood, toasted wood in the background, licorice and nutmeg. The tannins are powdery, tight, a little dry on the persistence. The acidity is lively and salivating, good persistence on the palate on the tangy fresh fruits.
