(organic) The wine has a pale ruby color, with slight garnet reflections. The first nose is a little reserved, but after aeration, it expresses notes of spices (nutmeg, ground cumin, liquorice, a hint of star anise), dried mint, fresh tobacco and brewed bergamot tea, combined with a very delicate tertiary touch of undergrowth. The fruits on the nose are fresh and tangy (red cherry, cranberries, morello cherry, blueberry), combined with an airy floral scent of rose and peony, as well as a tangy hint of cocoa nibs. The palate is silky, with a savory and smoky attack, slightly roasted (roasted bouquet garni, roasted meat in the background). The fruits are juicy, ripe (morello cherry, red cherry, crushed raspberry, red currants), complemented by a hint of cocoa, liquorice, white pepper and cumin. The tannins are grippy, powerful, but fine-grained. The finish is savory, mouth-watering, quite persistent and offers a racy mineral framework (earthy and limestone) and a touch of dried morello cherry with chocolate.
