The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers tension, concentration, and complexity. It initially expresses savory spicy and toasted notes (vanilla, a hint of cinnamon, licorice, even star anise, tonka bean, dark chocolate with mint, toasted almond, a hint of coffee and toast). Then we find fruity aromas (morello cherry, wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, crushed blueberry, blackberry), a refreshing touch of wild mint, as well as a racy minerality (limestone, dry earth). The palate is lively, fresh, precise, and complex. The attack is juicy and fruity : it expresses flavors of blueberry, raspberry, tart red cherry, morello cherry, strawberry and blackberry, which are then complemented by notes of wild mint, pine needles, sweet spices (licorice, vanilla, star anise, tonka bean), as well as dark chocolate, coffee, toasted hazelnut and peony in the background. There is also a touch of limestone minerality on the persistence. The tannins are solid, but soft and fine. Good bitterness on the tangy and persistent finish. A precise and elegant wine, with accuracy and complexity.
