The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose needs aeration to open up. It then offers freshness and density in its fruit (red cherry, raspberry, cranberries, a touch of blackcurrant and blackberry), a hint of roasting (toasted hazelnut, smoke, cocoa nibs), sweet spices (liquorice, coriander seeds, a very light touch of vanilla), as well as an airy floral side (peony, violet). The palate is straight, tight, with salivating acidity and solid tannins. It expresses notes of red cherry, cranberries, raspberry and redcurrant, combined with a herbaceous touch (dried mint, rosemary, blackcurrant leaf in the background), toasted (toasted hazelnut), spicy (liquorice, coriander seeds, nutmeg), with a touch of cocoa nibs and violet in the background. The finish is persistent, with a good bitterness of grapefruit, coffee and a smoky touch of bergamot. A firm, structured wine with potential.
