Le Filigare, Maria Vittoria 2021 – Chianti Classico Riserva

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is reserved and requires aeration. It then expresses delicate notes of tangy fruits (red cherry, blueberry, raspberry, cranberries), combined with a fragrant floral bouquet (wild rose, violet, peony), roasted aromas (toasted hazelnut, coffee, smoke, dark chocolate), as well as dried bouquet garni, licorice and white pepper. The palate is juicy, gourmand, with an attack of red cherry and sweet morello cherry, crushed raspberry and wild strawberry. Then there are chocolate and spicy notes (dark chocolate, liquorice, cumin in the background), roasting (toasted hazelnut, coffee), combined with a hint of grass (wild mint, bouquet garni) and floral (rose petals, violet). The tannins are tight, slightly grippy and have a good structure well integrated into the wine profile. Good length, with chewiness, a touch of chocolate and a lovely freshness in the salivating acidity.
