Frescobaldi, Tenuta Perano 2021 – Chianti Classico Riserva

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is juicy, fruity and quite aromatic. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, red cherry, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry and blackberry in the background, combined with subtle spicy and roasted aromas (liquorice, white pepper, cardamom, a very light touch of vanilla, toasted hazelnut, a hint of smoke and coffee), as well as wild mint, fresh pine needles, rose and lily in the background. There is also a delicate hint of limestone. The palate is straight, precise and tangy. The attack expresses flavors of tart red cherry, cranberry, crunchy strawberry, raspberry, as well as integrated roasted notes (toasted hazelnut, coffee, a hint of smoke), a hint of liquorice, cardamom and vanilla. There’s also a delicate bitter hint of chocolate and bergamot on the finish, combined with notes of dried pine needles and lily. The tannins are soft and refined. Good length and a mouth-watering, fresh acidity. An elegant and refined wine.
