Il Poggiolino, Il Classico 2022 – Chianti Classico

The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color. The nose is aromatic and opens with a dominant note of fresh mint. It then expresses aromas of morello cherry, fresh red cherry, crisp strawberry, and crushed raspberry, combined with notes of freshly grated nutmeg, liquorice, a hint of vanilla, cranberries in syrup, and chocolate in the background. The palate is straight, precise, fruity, and tangy. On the attack, we find flavors of slightly bitter cranberries, red cherry, raspberry, crisp strawberry, and blood orange. Then, the wine expresses notes of fresh mint, licorice, cardamom, and toast. The tannins are chalky and grippy. The finish is medium-length, tight, even dry, but balanced by mouthwatering acidity and a fresh note of wild mint.
