The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet highlights. The nose offers concentration, density, and juiciness. It expresses notes of juicy morello cherry, roasted red cherry, crushed wild strawberry, and ripe raspberry, combined with notes of sweet spices (roasted coriander seeds, nutmeg, liquorice, a hint of cinnamon and vanilla), as well as dark chocolate, morello cherries (even cherry jam), crushed wild mint, and bergamot tea in the background. There are also hints of sweet tobacco, fresh flowers (peony, fresh rose, iris), and roasted notes (chocolate-toasted hazelnut, cocoa). The palate offers tension, a mouthwatering acidity, and a good bitterness of cranberries and bergamot. On the attack, there are also notes of fresh fruit (tart cherry, crushed raspberry, blueberry, crunchy strawberry), which combine with delicate toasted touches (toasted hazelnut, dark chocolate), spice (a very light touch of vanilla, liquorice, grated nutmeg), as well as dried blackcurrant leaf, bergamot tea and dried rose leaf in the background. Tannins are enveloping, slightly grippy, and savory. Good, precise and straight length, with a salivating tangy frame. A tense, tight wine, but with good potential.
