Ricossa Barbaresco 2019 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose offers elegant floral scents of faded rose and peony, as well as a gourmand fruity material with plenty of freshness. On the opening, it expresses aromas of ripe wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, red cherry and fresh cranberries, which are complemented by notes of liquorice, nutmeg, fresh almond and toast. After aeration, there are tertiary touches of damp leaves, damp pine needles (even undergrowth) and tobacco, as well as a refreshing menthol touch. The palate is lively and fresh, with a tangy and fruity attack, on notes of red cherry, cranberries, raspberry and crunchy strawberry. Then there are hints of liquorice, nutmeg, white pepper, faded rose and fresh peony, as well as toast and toasted bitter almond. Tannins are very supple and velvety. Good persistence in the mouth, slightly warming, but balanced by a salivating acidity and a pleasant bitterness of fresh cherry.
