Pasquale Pelissero « Cascina Crosa » 2022 – Barbaresco

Pasquale Pelissero « Cascina Crosa » 2022 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color. On the nose, the wine is closed and requires aeration. On the opening, it expresses delicate herbaceous notes (a hint of blackcurrant leaf, peppermint), which are then complemented by a juicy and refined fruity material (morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, blackcurrant, fresh cherry). After aeration, we also find gourmet notes of dark chocolate, toasted hazelnut (even toasted wood in the background), coffee, as well as sweet spices (liquorice, a hint of clove) and flowers (rose, peony). The palate is juicy and ample, but all in freshness and elegance. On the attack, we feel the notes of tangy berries (red cherry, fresh cherry, a hint of raspberry and blackcurrant), a good bitterness and a slight smoky side of bergamot, as well as notes of roasting (coffee, toasted hazelnut skin). Notes of clove, liquorice and peony, as well as blackcurrant leaf and fresh tea leaf return on the persistence. Tannins are firm, fine and slightly bitter. Beautiful lively and salivating acidity, which gives the finish dynamism.
