Alessandro Rivetto Barbaresco 2019 – Barbaresco

Alessandro Rivetto Barbaresco 2019 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color, with slight garnet reflections. The nose is perfumed, silky, even textured. It opens with notes of juicy morello cherry, wild strawberry and crushed raspberry, complemented after aeration by tangy touches of blackcurrant and cranberry jam. There are also notes of delicate sweet spices (licorice, a hint of crushed cardamom and clove), cocoa nibs, bitter chocolate, a tertiary hint of undergrowth, tobacco and faded flowers in the background, as well as dried rose, fresh rose, associated with a mineral hint in the background (tar). The palate offers a lot of gourmandise and delicacy. The attack is fresh and juicy, and expresses tangy fruity flavors (red cherry, raspberry, tangy strawberry, blackcurrant, cranberries in the background), complemented by a hint of fresh peppermint. On the mid-palate, we can smell sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg, cloves), a tangy and cocoa-like hint of cocoa nibs, as well as a good bitterness of fresh cherry and grapefruit. The tertiary notes of tobacco, dried rose and undergrowth appear as the wine develops on the palate. Tannins are quite firm, structured, with a fine and enveloping texture. The finish concludes the profile with a beautiful freshness, a salivating acidity and a beautiful energy. A dynamic, gourmet, fresh and quite complex wine.
