Malvira’ Renesio 2020 – Roero Riserva

(organic) The wine has a pale ruby color, with slight garnet reflections. The first nose expresses the aromas of evolution (dry tobacco, dried rose, faded flowers), associated with a distinct mineral hint (dry stone, limestone rock), as well as dried herbs (hay, dried mint). The second nose, we find notes of fresh fruits (red cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, strawberry) and dried fruits (red cherry, cranberries in the background), as well as bitter chocolate, sweet spices (nutmeg, liquorice, cardamom) and mint chocolate. The palate is silky, enveloping and offers freshness and delicacy. It expresses notes of roasted raspberry, red cherry, morello cherry, blackberry and wild strawberry, associated with less expressive tertiary notes than on the nose (dry tobacco, dried rose, a very light touch of faded flowers and hay). We also find spicy flavors (nutmeg, liquorice), cocoa nibs and a tangy and bitter hint of coffee. Tannins are very fine and velvety, tasty and enveloping. Beautiful length, with a balancing and gourmet acidity.
