Sciavenza Barolo Cerretta 2021 – Barolo

Sciavenza Barolo Cerretta 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose expresses a certain density and a juicy and concentrated fruity material. We find the aromas of crushed wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, juicy morello cherry and red cherry, associated with a perfumed and expressive floral bouquet (fresh rose, peony, violet), a fine spiciness (liquorice, white pepper, clove), toasted (toasted hazelnut, coffee and bitter cocoa in the background) and herbaceous notes (dried mint, fresh pine needles with a sappy touch). The palate offers a savoury attack, first on the herbaceous notes (dried mint, pine needles), envelopped in a tangy and juicy fruity material (red cherry, cranberries, raspberry, crunchy strawberry). The mid-palate expresses subtle spicy notes (licorice, nutmeg, white pepper), as well as a touch of fresh and toasted hazelnut, as well as a sappy hint of fresh wood. Tannins are solid, with a fine texture and slightly powdery and cocoa-like. The finish offers energy, a salivating acidity and a good bitterness of cranberries, which softens gradually on the persistence. A good, precise and straight wine.
