Diego Morra Barolo Monvigliero 2021 – Barolo

Diego Morra Barolo Monvigliero 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is aromatic and savoury, with distinct notes of crushed, even macerated fruits (crushed red cherry, macerated cherry, fresh morello cherry, strawberry, blackberry, a hint of blackcurrant). After aeration, we also find the tanginess of cranberries and red cherry, spicy aromas (licorice, nutmeg, grated, white pepper), toasted and chocolatey (toasted hazelnut, a hint of dark chocolate), associated with a minty freshness (peppermint, a hint of sappy) and a floral touch (faded rose, fresh peony, iris). The palate is smooth, gourmet, with a tangy and lively fruitiness. On the attack, it expresses notes of tangy red cherry, crushed raspberry and cranberries, then associated with touches of blackcurrant and morello cherry. There is also a mineral hint of tar (very light), a subtle floral bouquet (fresh peony, faded rose), a fine spicy side (licorice, crushed cardamom, a hint of nutmeg) and toasted (sweet coffee, dark chocolate and tangy nibs). The finish is persistent, on tangy red fruits (cranberries, dried red cherry) and a hint of dried wild mint, completed by a good bitterness of fresh cherry. Good persistence in the mouth (with a distinct ripe red cherry flavor), straight and chiseled, Tannins are fine but tight, balanced by a salivating acidity.
