The wine has a pale ruby color. On the nose, it is reserved and requires aeration. We then find notes of juicy fresh black fruits (morello cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry), associated with notes of tangy red fruits (red cherry, cranberries, raspberry), a subtle minerality in notes of tar, even an earthy hint, associated with floral touches (more faded flowers – faded peony, dried rose), roasting (coffee, toasted almond, a hint of chocolate), as well as liquorice, nutmeg and mint in the background. The palate is more open and juicy on the attack, which offers a lively acidity, a bitter hint of fresh cherry and grapefruit in the background. There are also notes of morello cherry, sour red cherry, raspberry and cranberry, as well as sweet spices (liquorice, crushed cardamom especially on the persistence), fresh herbaceous notes, even tangy (blackcurrant leaf, mint, a hint of rosemary), fresh rather than faded flowers (rose, a hint of peony) and roasting (tangy cocoa nibs, dried almond, toasted hazelnut in the background). The finish is persistent and expresses a beautiful complexity in its bitter notes (coffee, fresh cherry, bitter cocoa). Tannins are solid, structured and enveloped in the juiciness of the fruits and a salivating acidity, which gives the wine straightness and balance.
