The wine has a pale garnet color, with slight tiled highlights. The nose offers a fruity, fresh and juicy material, associated with an expressive menthol side, as well as distinct but integrated evolutionary aromas. We find in particular the aromas of black plum (with a hint of dried plum), dried red cherry, morello cherry, dried raspberry and fresh tart red cherry, associated with notes of menthol, peppermint, dried black tea leaf, a touch of smoke and racy minerality (tar). The tertiary notes appear more after aeration – we find in particular the faded rose, undergrowth, tobacco and wet leaves. The nose also expresses a hint of nutmeg and fresh liquorice. The palate is fine, supple and melted, with velvety and polished tannins, slightly grippy on the finish. It expresses notes of dried fruits (dried red cherry, dried blackcurrant), fresh tangy fruits (cranberries, red cherry). Then, we find notes of coffee, sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg), dried peppermint and black tea leaves. The finish is persistent and expresses more tertiary notes – undergrowth, tobacco, wet leaves, famous rose, faded peony, as well as a mineral hint of tar. The acidity is sharp and salivating. The wine is perfumed on the nose, but closed in the mouth.
