Cascina Maria Barolo 2021 – Barolo

Cascina Maria Barolo 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color with garnet highlights. The first nose offers aromas of ripe fruits (morello cherry, strawberry, crushed raspberry) and dried and macerated fruits (dried cherry, dried raspberry, stewed cherry). We then find a delicate mineral touch of tar, as well as cardamom box and liquorice stick, white pepper, as well as dried rose, violet, cherry blossom in the background, crushed wild mint, as well as a delicate touch of roasting (coffee, dark chocolate). The palate is silky, but lively and tangy. It expresses notes of blueberry, morello cherry, strawberry, crushed raspberry, stewed cherry, as well as cocoa nibs, sweet spices (liquorice stick, cardamom), toasted hazelnut, cocoa nibs and flowers (fresh rose, peony, a hint of violet). Tannins are robust, well-built and fine. Good persistence in the mouth on notes of tangy fruits, associated with touches of cocoa nibs and liquorice. Nice structure, energy and liveliness.
