The wine has a pale ruby color with garnet highlights. The nose is juicy and gourmand and opens with notes of ripe and dried fruits (ripe wild strawberry, morello cherry, dried red cherry, crushed raspberry, a hint of cranberry syrup). It then expresses aromas of roasting (toasted hazelnut, coffee, a hint of dark chocolate) and sweet spices (liquorice, cardamom, vanilla, even cinnamon in the background), associated with a mineral hint of dry stone, notes of dried wild flowers, hay, dried mint and Earl Grey tea, as well as a tertiary hint of undergrowth in the background. The palate expresses tertiary notes on the attack (wet leaves, tobacco), as well as dried red fruits (dried red cherry, dried raspberry) and fresh tangy fruits (cranberries, raspberry, fresh morello cherry). There are also notes of liquorice, cardamom and nutmeg, combined with faded wildflowers, hay and an earthy mineral touch. The finish is quite persistent, with tertiary notes of damp leaves, tobacco and macerated cherry.
