The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. On the nose, it benefits from aeration. It then expresses notes of crushed morello cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, crushed blueberry and dried blackcurrant, combined with light tertiary touches of dried tobacco, undergrowth in the background and dried rose. There are also spicy notes of liquorice, even star anise, crushed cardamom, a hint of vanilla and white pepper, as well as lightly toasted hazelnut, toasted wood and fresh wood with a sappy hint, wild mint, blackcurrant leaf, lily and dried rose. The palate is juicy, open and silky, with a beautiful tangy frame of fresh fruit (red cherry, redcurrant, raspberry, morello cherry), a good bitterness and a smoky side of bergamot. It then expresses spicy notes (crushed cardamom, nutmeg, liquorice, a hint of toasted vanilla), bergamot tea, dried blackcurrant leaf, as well as cocoa, toasted almond and tar in the background. The finish is savory, quite long, offers a beautiful freshness, a salivating acidity and persistent flavors of fresh red cherry.
