Viberti Giovanni Barolo Monvigliero 2021 – Barolo

Viberti Giovanni Barolo Monvigliero 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is gourmand and fruity, but initially closed and requires aeration. It then expresses notes of juicy red cherry, crushed raspberry, crisp strawberry, morello cherry, blackcurrant, and a hint of blackberry, combined with spiciness (cardamom, nutmeg, licorice, a touch of vanilla), roasted notes (toasted hazelnut, sweet coffee, dark chocolate), dried rose, fresh peony, as well as fresh wild mint and a delicate mineral graphite framework. The palate is chiseled, tangy, with a fruity and lively attack. It first expresses notes of tangy red cherry, cranberries, raspberry, crisp strawberry and blackcurrant, combined with spices (licorice, grated nutmeg, cardamom, a hint of vanilla), a good bitterness of cocoa and coffee, as well as a touch of dried bergamot, coffee and dried rose. The tannins are tight, fine, not drying. The finish is savory, fruity and slightly bitter.
