The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is fleshy, fruity and gourmand: it firstly offers concentrated fruits (crushed wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, redcurrant jelly, ripe morello cherry, red cherry in chocolate, crème de cassis in the background), combined with a slightly sweet roasted side (chocolate-toasted hazelnut, a delicate hint of praline, bitter cocoa). We also find savory sweet spices (crushed cardamom, liquorice, vanilla, tonka bean), as well as flowers (fresh rose, a sweet hint of peony and iris), a fine menthol hint (pine bark, even sap, menthol), and a very delicate mineral touch of tar. The palate has a solid, tight tannic structure, with a fine, chalky texture, envelopped in juicy fruit. The attack offers a good bitterness of coffee, as well as a smoky touch of bergamot, which are then complemented by the juiciness of ripe fruits (wild strawberry, wild raspberry, fresh morello cherry, crushed red cherry, bitter wild cherry, blackcurrant), the savory side of spices (crushed cardamom, smoked pepper, roasted vanilla in the background, liquorice), as well as toasted touches of toasted almond, coffee and bitter cocoa. We also find flowers (dried rose, fresh rose, peony) and a mineral framework of tar on the persistence, accompanied by a herbaceous touch of dried pine needles. The finish is long and fresh, with a good bitterness and a salivating acidity.
