The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose offers density and elegance, depth and complexity, combining typical Barolo aromas (fresh rose petals, dried rose in the background, a delicate hint of tar), a ripe and warm fruitiness, slightly sweet (crushed wild strawberry, ripe morello cherry, red cherry in chocolate, crushed raspberry, redcurrant jelly), sweet spices (vanilla, liquorice, a hint of cardamom and roasted coriander seeds), as well as gourmet toasted notes (dark chocolate, toasted hazelnut in chocolate, even a hint of praline, café au lait). After aeration, we also find notes of violet and peony, bringing elegance to the bouquet. The palate is finely tight and refined, powerful, yet elegant, with firm, chalky tannins, but with a fine texture. It offers a delicious fruity attack (wild strawberry, dried red cherry, ripe morello cherry, crushed raspberry, red cherry in chocolate), combined with roasted notes (cocoa, toasted hazelnut, smoke), sweet spices (liauorice, nutmeg, crushed cardamom, smoked pepper), a mineral hint of tar in the background, as well as dried rose, violet, peony, wild mint and dried pine needles. The finish is persistent, tangy and mouth-watering, with a mineral backbone and a good bitterness of coffee and bergamot. A lot of finesse, harmoniously combined with the typical power of Barolo.
