The wine has a pale ruby color, with very slight garnet reflections. The nose is very aromatic, with a fragrant floral bouquet at the opening (lily, violet, dried rose, a hint of iris), which is complemented by notes of fresh tobacco, crushed wild mint, a mineral framework (tar, damp earth, even slightly saline), spicy aromas (cardamom and a delicate dusty touch of cardamom box, liquorice, nutmeg, a hint of tonka bean and star anise), as well as a fine roasted hint (coffee, toasted almond, a touch of cocoa) and ripe and juicy fruits (morello cherry, red cherry, blackberry, wild strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant). The attack on the palate is powdery, cocoa-like and gourmet. It expresses flavors of dark chocolate, morello cherry in chocolate, spices (liquorice, nutmeg, cardamom, tonka bean, toasted vanilla), a refined toasted touch (coffee, toasted hazelnut, toasted wood, smoke), herbaceous (dry tobacco, dried mint) and floral notes (dried rose, violet, a hint of lily). The fruits on the palate are ripe and juicy, even slightly sweet (crushed morello cherry, wild strawberry, wild raspberry, blackberry, roasted red cherry). The tannins are solid, soft and powdery. The finish is persistent and adds to the bouquet of flavors a good bitterness, a salivating acidity, as well as a mineral framework of damp earth and tar. A concentrated, deep and velvety wine, with power and elegance.
