The wine has a pale ruby color, with very slight garnet reflections. The first nose is rather herbaceous (in a good way) and mineral: there are notes of fresh tobacco, fresh wild mint in the background, as well as an earthy, chalky and tarry hint in the background. Then there are spicy aromas of white pepper, liquorice, cardamom box, dried vanilla, as well as cocoa, toasted wood, coffee, fresh and toasted bitter almond, as well as faded rose in the background. A juicy and tangy fruitiness envelops everything: there are notes of wild strawberry, wild raspberry, blackcurrant, red cherry, morello cherry and a hint of black plum. The palate is flavorful, with an expressive and fresh attack (we find flavors of morello cherry, ripe red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry), complemented by a gourmandise of morello cherry in chocolate, dark chocolate, sweet coffee and toasted almond. The mid-palate is spicier, herbaceous and mineral: it expresses notes of fresh tobacco, dried mint, dried rose, tar and dry earth in the background, combined with spicy notes of cardamom, liquorice and white pepper. The tannins are soft, enveloping and powdery, with an elegant structure. Good persistence on the palate on freshness, a spicy touch and a salivating acidity.
