Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo Ludo 2021 – Barolo

Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo Ludo 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color, with very slight garnet reflections. The nose is rich, yet refined, with depth and complexity, as well as a textured touch. It initially expresses notes of ripe, roasted, and jammy fresh fruits (morello cherry, crushed wild strawberry, juicy blackberry, crème de cassis, roasted red cherry, raspberry coulis), complemented by chocolate touches (chocolate morello cherry, mint chocolate). Aeration reveals spicy notes (liquorice, star anise, cardamom, a hint of white pepper and tonka bean), roasted notes (toasted almond, toasted wood, coffee), as well as tobacco and dried mint. There is also a hint of tar and dried rose in the background. The palate is precise, straight, and offers precision and elegance, as well as complex flavors. The attack expresses the good bitterness of coffee, wild cherry, dark chocolate, then complemented by a hint of toasted wood and toasted bitter almond, even cherry pit. The mid-palate is enveloping, gourmand and offers suppleness and roundness. It reveals flavors of fresh morello cherry, chocolate morello cherry, roasted red cherry, wild strawberry, juicy blackberry, as well as tonka bean, liquorice, cardamom and vanilla in the background. The tannins are melted and enveloping, well structured. The finish is persistent, with a beautiful acidity in harmony with the taste profile and a mineral touch of tar and dried rose.
