Joseph Mellot, Domaine des Emois 2023 – Sancerre

(organic) The wine has a pale lemon color. The nose is intense and fragrant: it opens with notes of yellow lemon zest, crushed grapefruit, yellow peach. Then, the aromas express floral notes (acacia, apple blossom), a mineral framework of limestone and a tangy touch of green apple and lime. The palate is sapid, fresh, tangy and slightly bitter. The attack offers a tangy framework of yellow lemon, gooseberries, a good grapefruit bitterness. In the mid-palate, the wine expresses the gourmet flavors of yellow peach and apricot, while remaining lively and tangy. There are also floral notes of acacia and apple blossom, as well as a mineral touch of limestone.
