Maya 2022 – Napa Valley

The nose is very fragrant, sweet and very chocolatey and offers notes of coffee, caramel, praliné, toasted wood, crème de cassis, juicy blackberry, blackberry cream, prunes, prune cream, mint in syrup, rosemary in syrup and vanilla. There are also gourmet notes of cinnamon, a lactic hint, chocolate cake, liquorice (candy, not fresh liquorice). Beautiful fruity freshness balances the sweet side : fresh morello cherry, roasted morello cherry, fresh and dried cherry, dried cassis, as well as herbal hints (black tea, mint). The palate is juicy, fresh, gourmet and fruity, less sweet and chocolatey. In mouth this wine expresses notes of fresh fruit (fresh morello cherry, raspberry, fresh cherry, wild strawberry, black plum, cassis), associated with a hint of tobacco, black tea and cedar, as well as cocoa, coffee, rosemary, wild mint and liquorice. Tannins are powerful, yet elegant, fine, yet present and structured. Beautiful balance, expression and richness.
